Meet the Seamstress

I’m Stephanie and I grew up in the midwest, the west suburbs of Chicago. I’ve been skating and sewing for most of my life.

I’ve always been a “crafty” person, ever since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. My grandmother was the one who introduced me to sewing and thanks to her, I took my first sewing class when I was 11 years old.

My other passion growing up was figure skating. I started when I was 8 taking learn to skate classes after going to a public skate birthday party. I still remember being on the ice seeing the older girls spinning and jumping, thinking “I want to be able to do that one day!” Before long, I progressed into freestyle classes, testing, competing, and even skated a few years with syncro. At 16 I decided it was time to move on but for a few years after, I dabbled in coaching here and there.

My husband and I moved to Colorado in 2008 and have moved around the state a few times. We landed in Loveland 5 years ago and after our second child was born, I discovered there was an ice rink near by!

It’s been super fun getting back on the ice; competing, testing and finding new sewing projects! Thus Glitter & Threads was born!

Thank you for visiting! I look forward to chatting with you.
